Update

Its been a while since I last posted. I really have to find the camera, as I've finished a few projects already! Wooo!

The candy-apple red shrug is a thing of the past! Meaning, I've finished it, worn it, and put it in the drawer for next winter. As it is June, it is a smidge too warm out for long-sleeve heavy knit wear. I did get a chance to wear it out of the house before it got too warm, having finished it in mid-May. One of the students I was tutoring really liked it and was quite surprised that I had made it!

Hrmm... as far as that puppy pillow goes... haven't completed that yet. I was completely unable to find the same color blue Caron yarn that I had used. Since I had doubled up on the yarn, I plan to frog (rip-out) the one back panel I was able to knit and make two out of that. It'll be a little thinner than the front, but it's the back, so who's going to look?!

I found the BESTEST MOST FABULOUS little yarn shop near my home. I seriously want to live there, in the yarn store, next to the wool. I could knit my own bed! I'd have time to, at least.... Anyway, I dragged the bf there the other day and spent my fifty-seven dollars on some skeins of silky wool, nylon ribbon, and an extra set of bamboo circulars... mmmmmmm... to start the lacy skirt from Knit Cafe. I love that skirt. I can't wait to wear that skirt. It is such a pain to knit. I, for the life of me, couldn't figure out what mistake I was making when I first started the pattern. I think that I kept forgetting to do a yo, ending up with 48 st instead of 49. I frogged the small piece I had once, re-knit, made the mistake again, pulled back two rows, then re-knit them. I'm fine with the rhythm of the pattern now, though and I've almost completed the third bit of lace paneling for the front-side. Woo-hoo! Only almost all of it left to go.... ^^

I started a few patterns in Knit Girls II. One was a pencil case that I knit in lime green and black stash yarn. I've finished everything, it just needs to be stiched together and I need to find some buttons for it. I'm thinking of gifting it to my sister for her birthday, so I've time to finish it. The difficult part will be to not lose the parts in the mean time.

The other pattern I started was the book cover. I added some stiches and some stripes! I was hoping I'd finish it before the next Hp book comes out, but I don't know if I'll have time to finish it, as I realized I'm only half-way through the fourth book and I want to get through the next two before the final one comes out. Even though its a second/third reading of the books, I'm still not reading them really fast. I tried speed reading today, but all the pictures in my head looked like a movie put on fast forward. Weird.

Finally, I was super ecstatic to find Charmed Knits IN my Barns n' Noble store today. I was seriously convinced they would never carry that in store and I'd have to go through the whole ordeal of ordering the book online and actually have to wait for it to get to my house, you know a whole four days or so later. But I don't have to, because I OWN it now!!! And I STILL have $12.36 left on my gift card for what ever other book (read: probably knitting book) strikes my fancy at a later date! Yah!

Well, it's now close to 12:00 and I still plan on chatting with some friends and knitting before I go to sleep, so I'mma sign off now before I'm up 'til four a.m. wondering why the sun is coming up. Sweet dreams!
