The Knitty-Gritty

I have been wanting to start a blog about knitting and crocheting for sometime now and finally I have gotten around to it! *cheers and applause* Congradulatory messages can be left below, but now to dive right in!

In the beginning:

In the beginning there was grandma and me, and grandma and me. I first learned to knit from my mother's mother and crochet from my father's mother. Wasn't I lucky?! To have two great women start me off in such a versitile craft was amazing and trying at times. Let's face it, I didn't have the patience to sit and work on a project for more than a half hour when I was seven that I do today. I knit a fair few dishclothes though. Nope, today I drive my family members crazy when I say, "Okay, I'll go do that after I finish just one more row..." ...five rows later.

My own niche:

As an English major and self proclaimed book sniffer, I have in the past year aquired a few books on knitting and crocheting that has left me with a strong desire to wrap yarn around the end of two sticks and create something wonderful! I hope that this blog will serve as a space to not only display my works in progress, share my frustrations about having to frog an item, because I've made too big of a mess of it, and share my ideas, but also to keep up this creative streak I seem to be thriving on!
