To Write

Somedays I get up and think: I'm going to write! Then I find a million other excuses not to, such as: knitting, watching a movie, or having lack of time before work. I have even cleaned the house as an excuse.

Dust mites, fear these days.

Today, I got out of bed, after a rather crummy night's sleep and sat down at the computer with the intention of writing. I even have my notebook right here with me! It is a gorgeous little pale silver thing that I've been keeping notes and bits of writing in for this one particular story. I decided I needed it to help me focus on this story and to have something to write in at all times so that I never have a great idea and then forget it.

Today, I am very excited, because I just finished typing up the prologue to my story! Woo-hoo! Okay, yes, it is a single-spaced-one-page-wonder, but it is a good piece of writing. It sets up my narrator as a third person omniscient. It immediately opens up the story to a million questions, such as who is Adam, what or who is he running from, and how will his aunt react to that tear in his sock? Finally, it adds a bit of the unrealistic, since the character tears through a hole in time at the end of the prologue.

Now that I've gotten this far, I think that it is time to do a bit of laundry. *wink* We'll see how much farther we get today!
