It started with a ball of yarn, a pair of needles, and a pattern book. I was going to make the cutest leg warmers ever! Some where along the way, my ball of yarn multiplied, I dragged more needles and crochet hooks out of my craft box, and my one pattern book invited some friends over for a party it was throwing and at my expense!
I have so many projects started! I keep reassuring myself that I will get them all finished, as long as I work on them one at a time. Of course, I say that, because it seems like a perfectly logical thing to do, but then ten minutes later I find my fingers greedily picking through the next set of patterns and starting a new project. Really! What can they be thinking?
It is really time to get organized about this and figure out what projects I have going at the moment so that I can finally get something finished:
1. One, oh so lonely, black leg warmer, incomplete without the icord drawstring on top. (I am actually wondering if I'll be able to make the second one just the same; although, I may have already started it... but that remains to be seen.)
2. About a quarter of a fuzzy pink leg warmer for my sister. This project was started this winter, but I figure I have about a year to work on it, since it will probably turn into a birthday or Christmas gift for her.
3. A doggie pillow, extra small. This was actually started yesterday and I don't really have any sort of time requirements for this one. I figured I'd make it and hope my little monsters didn't destroy it right away.
4. A red shrug. For the love of cupcakes is this going to ever be done?! I think the only reason I'm not working faster on this project is that I am horrified that what I am doing only follows the pattern to a fault. The picture on lionbrandyarn.com looks so so cute and I love red! But honestly, what I am making does not resemble. So far, what I have, looks more like a lumpy rectangle. /le cry
5. A lime green felted purse, that I realized after crocheting would NEVER work, because, a duh, the yarn I bought won't felt. I think I'll be able to pick up some lime colored wool though, but I think I'll skip the pattern and create my own. I'm thinking: triangular shaped wonderfulness.
6. My purple persuassion project bag. I'll have to write up a pattern for this, as I kind of created it on the fly. All I have left to finish on this bad boy is the bottom insert to make the bag a bit more sturdy. One totally awsome thing about this project was the amazing compliment it was paid! My sister's boyfriend saw it sitting in the living room one day and refused to believe I had actually made it! He said it looked like something you could buy in a store. Woot!
I'm sure there are one or two if not ten more projects sitting at the bottom of my, now over flowing, yarn box. But these are the ones that I'd like to work on/finish at the moment.
No pictures today, but I'll try to work a few up next time, especially for that bag. Til then!
